AWW....at last.

Here it is. The highly anticipated blog (at least for my self). If you spend a decent amount of time with me, you will learn that I geek blogs :o) I stalk them whenever I have free-time. Which now a days that is extremely rare, but all the same I really love blogs. So I thought I should have one too...

But more than the fact I love to know how people are doing and what is going on with them, I love seeing Jesus work in their lives and how He is blessing them day after day. Deep down I just want to share how the Lord is working in my life and at DMACC.

Recently, I have been thinking a lot about them Hymn "Come thou Fount". It is my favorite Hymn, but I have been very challenged by the verse:

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.

I did not know what the word 'fetter' meant, so I looked it up and it is a shackle or chain generally placed around one's feet. That is exactly where I want my heart to be - tied to His heart. My flesh loves entertaining the thoughts of the world and I just want to hold tight to Jesus.

Today I read Romans 1-1:17 and it was so good for my heart to be encouraged by Paul's devotion to Christ and to people. I want more of that in my life.

Challenged by:
Romans 1:9, 11-12
"God, whom I serve with my whole heart in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times...I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong - that is that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each others faith."
A brother shared this with me yesterday so I started reading Romans because I was challenged by this. I want to push myself in the direction of Paul to really labor in prayer (a struggle in itself for me) over the people I am serving with. I understand the power of encouragement, and I want to encourage and be encouraged by other saints' faith. SO refreshing!

Memorizing:
Psalm 145:14-18
"The Lord upholds those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has make. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth." Very refreshing! I love meditating on these verses.
Kristen and myself have been memorizing verses together, by the Lord's grace, for about a year and a half and it is SO good! It is a good way to be faithful with scripture and the accountability is wonderful!

thankful for,
beauty instead of ashes
